Dr. Kennedy Neck Deck Unique and Effective Design: The Neck Deck s contoured foam base places the patient in an ideal position for traction treatment with important anterior translation of the torso and posterior translation of the skull. Other traction units that require lying on the floor or another flat surface are unable to create the important posterior translation. Finding the Comfort: The Neck Deck allows patients new to extension therapy to ease into their traction treatment. Patients begin by lying on the contoured foam base for a few minutes each day. As they become more comfortable (usually within a week s time), comfortable (usually within a week s time), comfortable (usually within a week s time), patients can add short inflation sessions with the neck roll and finally add the forehead strap with greater inflation force for a longer duration. This will create a slight pressure from the unit and a defined extension of the skull.
